About Alta
I'm a big nutrition and fitness fan now, but that wasn't always the case.
Not at all.
Exercise, movement, and fitness were the farthest things from my mind when I was younger. And nutrition? Forget about it! The blue box of mac and cheese was a staple for me on the regular. And “serving size” was as much as needed to fill the emotional hole I was trying to fill.
I didn’t understand any of it. And to be honest, at the time, I didn’t really care.

injuries Changed Everything
In 1992, I suffered multiple injuries that forced some significant changes. Suddenly, I couldn't do all the things I didn't think I wanted to do. My body started changing in ways that made me feel uncomfortable in my own skin. I got uncomfortable enough that I felt compelled to learn about nutrition and fitness to support my healing.
Through this challenging journey, I finally understood that I not only have control over how my body feels and looks, but how I feel about my body.
I was no athlete, mind you. But that didn’t matter. Fitness and awareness of my food choices were the keys to reclaiming my health.
New found Passion
My journey to wellness didn’t happen overnight, and it didn’t happen in a vacuum. I had support and training along the way, and it changed my life.
Jump to 2021, I was 42 and diagnosed with uterine sarcoma. I had to have a total hysterectomy and my ovaries removed. That meant immediate menopause. I’ve embraced the changes and applied all that I have learned into continuing to live my healthiest life. I’m not only a trainer, I’ve become my client.
Throughout all of this, I wouldn't change a thing because it brought me right where I am today, passionate about helping other women who are ready to feel strong, powerful, confident, and comfortable in their own bodies. There is no shame and no blame in my work. There is only encouragement and progress, whatever that looks like for you.
